Payroll Coordinator – International School

About the role

The Payroll Coordinator will manage the complete payroll cycle for Metropolitan School of Panama, ensuring accurate, timely and confidential processing in line with Panamanian labour legislation, tax rules and Nord Anglia Education policies. Reporting to the HR Director and partnering closely with the Finance Department, the role supports the school’s financial integrity and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute the full payroll cycle, including new hires, salary changes, overtime, leave, benefits, deductions and terminations.
• Validate payroll transactions against required approvals and maintain comprehensive payroll records.
• Generate payslips, payroll reports, reconciliations and supporting documentation for management review.
• Process payroll payments via ACH and manage related banking activities.
• Prepare and submit all statutory payroll obligations (SIPE, CSS, Educational Insurance, Income Tax, DGI Form 03, PROFUTURO, etc.).
• Perform payroll, vacation accrual and general‑ledger reconciliations and support internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and movements are reflected in payroll.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in payroll administration, preferably within an international or educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of Panamanian labour legislation, tax regulations and Social Security requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and ability to handle confidential information.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with finance and HR teams.
