Hotel Receptionist (Front Desk & Cashier)

About the role

Las Clementinas is an exclusive 9-room boutique hotel in Casco Antiguo, Panama City, operated under Conservatorio S.A. The Recepcionista y Control de Caja is the main face of the hotel, reporting directly to the Manager. This full-time on-site position covers front desk operations, guest relations, reservations via the Guesty PMS, payment collections and adherence to operational SOPs.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, handle check-in and check-out, give local recommendations for Casco Antiguo, manage requests and resolve complaints empathetically.
• Handle direct bookings in Guesty, present rates, validate credit cards, enforce deposit policies and apply card rejection and cancellation protocols.
• Process POS card transactions, open and close shifts, reconcile daily payments with PMS records and issue legal invoices.
• Complete daily checklists on morning, afternoon or night audit shifts, including channel manager sync across Booking.com, Expedia and Airbnb and no-show processing.
• Audit room readiness with housekeeping, report maintenance issues and record shift activities in the logbook.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of proven front desk experience in boutique hotels or apart-hotels.
• High school diploma; a Hospitality or Tourism degree is preferred.
• Valid Carnet Blanco and Carnet Verde, and full work authorization in Panama.
• Full availability for 8-hour rotating shifts (morning, afternoon, night), weekends and holidays.
• Professional fluency in Spanish and English, spoken and written.

Required skills

• PMS software (Guesty preferred), OTA extranets and POS terminals.
• Microsoft Office / Google Workspace and WhatsApp Business.
• Customer service, attention to detail, problem solving and multitasking under pressure.
