Finance Intern

About the role

Inchcape is looking for a Finance Intern in Panama City. You will work alongside experienced finance professionals and gain exposure to financial operations, analysis and reporting, assisting with financial tasks, performing data analysis and supporting the finance team in day-to-day activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with financial data entry, recording transactions and maintaining financial records in accounting software or spreadsheets.
• Support the preparation of financial reports, statements and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform financial analysis, including variance, trend and ratio analysis, to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Help reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable and other accounts.
• Participate in audits and compliance reviews by providing documentation and assisting with audit preparations.
• Research industry trends, market conditions and financial regulations to support decision-making.
• Support ad-hoc projects, special assignments and process improvements, and take part in training sessions and workshops.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and keep financial databases, spreadsheets and reports accurate and consistent.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's programme in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Coursework in financial accounting, managerial finance and financial analysis.
• Analytical mindset, excellent communication and teamwork skills, detail-oriented and organized.
• Enthusiasm for learning and willingness to take on new challenges.
• Previous internship experience in finance, accounting or related fields is preferred but not required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, functions and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with financial software such as SAP, Oracle or QuickBooks is a plus.
