Staff Accountant

About the role

Insignia is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its finance team. The successful candidate will prepare financial reports, perform bank reconciliations, and support cyclical audits while ensuring accurate accounting records.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly accruals, standard and adjusting journal entries, and generate final GL activity.
• Reconcile revenue between accounting and A/R systems.
• Maintain and update fixed‑asset schedules, assist with annual cost reports and capital improvement files.
• Provide audit support, including state capital report filings and HUD replacement reserve reimbursements.
• Support compliance and reporting requirements, such as semi‑annual accounting packages for Expedited Payment Status.
• Maintain accurate documentation, ensure timely filing, and provide treasury support like check clearing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification is a plus.
• 5+ years of proven bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• Panamanian citizenship or a valid work permit for Panama.
• Advanced English (verbal and written).

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Experience with NetSuite (preferred).
