Senior System Administrator – SWIL/HWIL Operations

About the role

Cortina Solutions is seeking a senior system administrator to lead the Software‑in‑the‑Loop (SWIL) and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HWIL) lab environments supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division. You will own the technical domain, ensure classified and unclassified lab readiness, and mentor junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, network switches, and storage arrays (SAN/NAS).
• Manage user access, virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi) and oversee configuration control for complex lab baselines.
• Apply OS patches, DISA STIGs, and maintain CSWF certifications to meet DoD and Navy security baselines.
• Lead disaster recovery, hardware lifecycle planning, and infrastructure‑as‑code automation.

Required profile

• 10+ years of civilian or military system administration experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Active DoD Secret clearance and CompTIA Security+ certification.

Required skills

• Windows Server administration.
• RedHat/Linux administration.
• Cisco networking (CCNP/CCNA).
• VMware vSphere/ESXi virtualization.
• SAN/NAS storage management.
• PowerShell and Bash scripting.
