Mid-Career System Administrator (Network & Simulation Support)

About the role

Cortina Solutions is seeking a mid‑career System Administrator to manage network and simulation infrastructure for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division. You will own network devices, VLANs, and routing architectures that support critical modeling and simulation operations.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and maintain network switches, routers, and VLAN structures.
• Manage interface control documentation and execute approved configuration changes.
• Ensure network performance, routing stability, and uptime for active test events.
• Apply firmware updates, DISA STIGs, and maintain CSWF certifications to meet DOD and Navy security baselines.

Required profile

• 3‑7+ years of civilian or military network and system administration experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Active DOD Secret clearance.
• Network‑focused certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Juniper, or CompTIA Network+.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with managed switches, routers, VLANs, and routing protocols.
• Knowledge of DISA STIG implementation and CSWF certification requirements.
• Experience with multicast routing, network traffic analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark), and ACL management.
