Senior HSE Business Partner – Americas

About the role

APM Terminals is seeking a Senior HSE Business Partner to lead Health, Safety and Environment performance across its terminals in the Americas. Based in Panama, the role involves extensive travel throughout North, Central and South America, partnering closely with terminal leaders and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with regional and terminal leadership to improve HSE performance across the Americas.
• Develop and execute regional HSE improvement plans aligned with strategic priorities and operational risks.
• Monitor HSE trends, identify emerging risks and provide actionable insights for decision‑making.
• Drive accountability, engagement and continuous‑improvement initiatives throughout the region.
• Support implementation of the HSE Strategy and Management Framework.
• Coordinate investigation, learning and closure of high‑severity incidents.
• Coach and influence leaders to strengthen ownership of HSE performance.
• Support due‑diligence activities for new terminal projects and growth opportunities.
• Develop HSE talent through coaching, mentoring, succession planning and capability‑building initiatives.
• Lead or contribute to regional and global HSE improvement projects.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) within an operational setting.
• Strong business‑partnering capabilities and ability to work closely with frontline teams.
• Proven experience driving safety culture, incident investigation and risk mitigation.
• Excellent communication, analytical and coaching skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the Americas.
