Senior Concrete Materials Expert

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Concrete Materials Expert to join its Panama City team. The role involves overseeing concrete material quality for dam and water‑retaining projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve contractor‑proposed materials and methods as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
• Provide daily oversight of contractor activities, including work assignments, on‑site performance, and supervision guidance.
• Supervise sampling, testing, and random checks of delivered materials for conformance with approved sources.
• Perform statistical analysis of test results and report findings to the Quality Specialist and Quality Manager.
• Coordinate material procurement, QA/QC advice, and technical issue resolution with GECs.
• Mentor staff, conduct site inspections, and ensure quality control inspections are completed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably with dam projects involving inspection, rehabilitation, or new construction.
• In‑depth knowledge of concrete material properties, behavior, and failure analysis.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
