Senior Dams Engineer (RCC)

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Dams Engineer with expertise in roller‑compacted concrete (RCC) to join its Panama City office. The role involves leading design, inspection, and risk analysis of water storage and hydropower dams.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptual to detailed design of dams, retarding basins and service basins.
• Perform inspections, investigations and condition assessments of existing dams, including monitoring data review.
• Conduct alternatives analyses, feasibility studies and detailed design, producing design drawings and technical specifications.
• Lead failure mode and risk analyses, acting as independent consultant or facilitator in workshops.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with AECOM’s operations and finance groups.
• Mentor junior staff and make independent technical decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with RCC construction or repairs and dam projects.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict‑resolution abilities.
