Response Program Manager

About the role

Miyamoto International is seeking a strategic, results‑oriented Response Program Manager to lead disaster response and recovery programming in Panama. The role bridges national operations with global teams, ensuring coordinated, effective action during emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, monitoring and adaptation of post‑disaster and recovery programs.
• Maintain strong relationships with SINAPROC, relevant ministries, local authorities and humanitarian partners.
• Mobilize and lead multidisciplinary teams, providing clear direction and fostering collaboration.
• Facilitate coordination among local stakeholders, international partners and remote global teams.
• Communicate fluently in Spanish and English to support government engagement, reporting and cross‑cultural collaboration.
• Identify emerging needs, resolve operational challenges and adapt response strategies to changing disaster contexts.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of professional experience in disaster management, emergency response or related engineering fields.
• Proven success managing post‑disaster recovery and risk reduction programs in Panama.
• Established experience working with SINAPROC and Panamanian government ministries.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mobilize teams, coordinate across multiple organisations and manage complex programmes.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with geographically dispersed global teams across time zones.
