Senior HSE Business Partner – Americas

About the role

As a Senior HSE Business Partner for the Americas, you will shape and strengthen health, safety and environment performance across APM Terminals’ network of ports and terminals. Based in Panama, the role involves extensive travel throughout North, Central and South America, partnering with terminal leaders and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with regional and terminal leadership to improve HSE performance and implement the HSE Strategy and Management Framework.
• Monitor HSE trends, identify emerging risks and provide insights for decision‑making.
• Coordinate investigation, learning and closure of high‑severity incidents.
• Support due‑diligence for new terminal projects and business growth opportunities.
• Develop HSE talent through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior HSE, operational risk management or business partnering experience.
• Experience in ports, terminals or other complex operational industries (preferably 4 years).
• Strong ability to build trust and influence stakeholders without relying on hierarchy.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout the Americas.

Required skills

• Training Within Industry (TWI) knowledge.
• Fluent English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
