Investigations Specialist – Remote

About the role

The Office of Audit and Investigations (OAI) of UNDP seeks a remote Investigations Specialist to support its Unit 1 Regional Investigations HQ and RBLAC. The specialist will assist in assessing and conducting complex investigations into allegations of misconduct, fraud, corruption, harassment, and other violations involving UNDP staff, contractors, and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse complaints of misconduct received by OAI.
• Conduct investigative research and analytical activities to assess case merit.
• Recommend case closure or escalation for formal investigation.
• Guide and support witness interviews, ensuring accurate recording and verification, including use of interpreters when needed.
• Collect, preserve, and manage evidence while maintaining chain of custody.
• Prepare clear, objective investigation reports and present findings to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in investigations, internal audit, compliance, or related fields.
• Familiarity with UNDP regulations, rules, and administrative instructions.
• Strong analytical and research abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sensitivity to confidential information.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
