Investigations Specialist – Home-Based

About the role

The Office of Audit and Investigations (OAI) of UNDP is seeking a Home‑Based Investigations Specialist to support its Regional Investigations HQ and RBLAC units. The specialist will assist in assessing and conducting complex investigations into misconduct allegations, ensuring rigorous evidence handling and impartial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse complaints of misconduct, including fraud, corruption, harassment, and abuse of authority.
• Conduct investigative research and analytical activities to support case assessment.
• Recommend case closure or escalation for formal investigation.
• Guide interview processes, record testimonies accurately, and coordinate interpreters when needed.
• Collect, preserve, and manage evidence while maintaining chain‑of‑custody protocols.

Required profile

• International personnel with experience in investigations, audit, or compliance.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interview techniques.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
