Human Resources Assistant

About the role

The Human Resources Assistant will support the HR department in Panama, delivering high‑quality service to staff, prospective hires and partner National Societies. The role focuses on talent acquisition, employee relations, policy guidance and performance management within a humanitarian organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist line managers in registering new positions on the HR Information System (HRIS).
• Prepare budgets and salary calculations for newly created roles.
• Manage the full recruitment cycle: post vacancies, shortlist candidates, administer assessments, schedule and conduct interviews.
• Provide day‑to‑day employee relations support, including policy interpretation and consultation.
• Support performance and talent management processes, including training coordination and career path planning.
• Promote a proactive, customer‑service oriented culture across the HR team.

• Strong customer‑service mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with line managers and external partners.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to continuously improve HR processes.

Required skills

• Experience using an HR Information System (HRIS).
