Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

Ocean Re is seeking a detail‑oriented, business‑savvy HR Business Partner to own the employee lifecycle end‑to‑end and act as a trusted advisor to managers and senior leaders across a multicultural, growing organization.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with functional leaders to translate business priorities into workforce planning, organizational effectiveness and talent initiatives.
• Advise and coach managers on employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, investigations and consistent application of HR and business policies.
• Support the evolution of performance management toward continuous, feedback‑driven models aligned with talent development and succession planning.
• Drive employee engagement, leadership capability, team effectiveness and a positive workplace culture.
• Collaborate on talent and succession strategies, building internal and external pipelines for critical roles.
• Execute core HR operations for assigned stakeholders, including onboarding, workforce reporting, internal communications, escalation management and compensation support.
• Identify and implement improvements to HR processes and contribute to cross‑functional HR projects and change initiatives.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert on Panamanian employment law, keeping knowledge current and providing practical guidance.
• Work flexibly across international time zones and travel occasionally to other Ocean Re locations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar advisory role.
• Strong knowledge of Panamanian employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving, multicultural environment.
• Willingness to work across time zones and travel when needed.
