Communications and Knowledge Management Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Development Coordination Office seeks a Communications and Knowledge Management Consultant to enhance visibility, knowledge sharing and organizational learning across the Resident Coordinator system in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, edit, format and disseminate high‑quality communications and visibility products, including news items, feature stories, newsletters, briefs, presentations and web content.
• Coordinate the regional RCO/UNIC Communications Network, maintain its workplan and calendar, organise meetings and facilitate exchange of tools, good practices and peer‑learning activities.
• Identify, capture and synthesize lessons learned, innovations and good practices; develop concise knowledge products such as briefs, case studies and thematic compilations.
• Maintain an organized repository of communications and knowledge resources and support their dissemination through DCO and UN channels.
• Design and administer simple surveys, create trackers, dashboards and visual summaries to support reporting and evidence‑based decision‑making.

Required profile

• University degree in communications, journalism, public information, international relations, international development, knowledge management or a related field.
• Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in communications, public information, knowledge management or programme support.
• Demonstrated experience producing and editing communications and knowledge products for professional audiences.
• Fluency in English and Spanish with excellent drafting and editing skills; French or Portuguese is an advantage.
