Communications & Knowledge Management Intern

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a motivated intern to support communications and knowledge management for its Chemicals and Pollution Action Programme in the Latin America and Caribbean region. Working under the Regional Coordinator, you will contribute to a range of high‑impact initiatives aimed at reducing chemical and waste pollution.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and disseminating events such as webinars, technical exchanges, and workshops for regional networks on chemicals, waste, atmospheric pollution, and plastics.
• Update and maintain web pages for cooperation networks and draft informative notes on project activities.
• Support the design, drafting, and distribution of communication materials, including newsletters, briefs, and social media content.
• Help manage knowledge resources for the Intergovernmental Networks, the Coalition for dump‑site closure, and the Working Group on Plastics and Microplastics.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate in communications, environmental studies, public policy, or a related field.
• Strong interest in environmental issues, especially chemicals and pollution.
• Excellent written English communication skills.
