Technical Advisor – Resilient Recovery

About the role

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) is seeking a Technical Advisor to support resilient recovery efforts in Venezuela following the June 2026 earthquakes. This home‑based consultancy will provide strategic input, develop technical products, and facilitate stakeholder engagement to strengthen risk‑informed recovery planning.

Key responsibilities

• Support UNDRR’s participation in the Early Recovery Working Group and other inter‑agency coordination mechanisms.
• Provide technical inputs to post‑disaster assessments and evaluations.
• Develop technical products and guidance for risk‑informed resilient recovery.
• Engage with government institutions, development partners, international financial institutions, civil society, and the private sector.
• Assist in shaping UNDRR’s value proposition and strategic engagement for the Venezuelan recovery context.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in disaster risk reduction and resilient recovery.
• Ability to work remotely and coordinate with UNDRR’s Regional Office for the Americas and the Caribbean.
• Experience collaborating with multi‑stakeholder groups in post‑disaster settings.
