Technical Advisor for IX Regional Platform (RP27) Coordination in The Bahamas

About the role

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) seeks a Technical Advisor to support the coordination and implementation of the IX Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in the Americas and the Caribbean (RP27) scheduled for 2026 in Nassau, The Bahamas. The consultant will ensure the preparation, delivery, and follow‑up of all RP27 sessions and related documentation, producing final outputs in English and Spanish.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning and execution of RP27 sessions, including an intergovernmental segment, ministerial meeting, and technical meetings.
• Collaborate with the Government of The Bahamas, UNDRR counterparts, and other partners to organize a hybrid event format.
• Manage documentation, reporting, and knowledge‑sharing materials throughout the event lifecycle.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders to promote the Sendai Framework implementation and showcase Small Island Developing States experiences.

Required profile

• Proven experience in disaster risk reduction, event coordination, or related international development projects.
• Ability to work effectively with government agencies, UN bodies, and multi‑stakeholder groups.
• Strong organizational and project‑management skills, with attention to detail.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.
