Public Partnership Specialist (P-3)

About the role

The Partnerships Specialist supports UNICEF LACRO’s engagement with governments, international financial institutions, foundations and other strategic partners to advance child‑centered policies and mobilize resources. The role involves developing and implementing partnership strategies, managing outreach, and ensuring UNICEF’s reputation and influence are strengthened.

Key responsibilities

• Implement work plans to deliver results in line with UNICEF’s partnership strategy.
• Identify, develop and broker new partnerships and resource‑mobilization agreements.
• Screen inquiries from potential collaborators and facilitate communication with relevant UNICEF staff.
• Monitor external environment for opportunities and risks, sharing timely information with colleagues.
• Provide strategic and logistical support to senior management for corporate engagement.
• Maintain a database of key contacts and expand UNICEF’s network of interlocutors.
• Develop and implement annual partnership engagement and resource‑mobilization plans.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in international relations, political science, communications, international development, public policy or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum five years of professional experience in partnerships, public affairs, programme management, resource mobilization or external relations.
• Strong diplomatic communication and negotiation skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of development issues, partnership development and resource mobilization.
• Ability to conduct policy analysis and develop innovative outreach approaches.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with political and governmental processes.
