About the role

Talentum Headhunting is supporting a leading bank in Panama in the search for a Senior Software Engineer. The role is pivotal for leading the operation, evolution and continuous improvement of the technological platforms that support the bank’s business.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in defining technology priorities, system road‑maps and modernization initiatives.
• Ensure stability, correct operation, parametrization, evolution and continuity of the core banking platforms.
• Develop, supervise, adjust and maintain applications using GeneXus, Java, RPG and SQL.
• Gather business needs, translate them into functional and technical requirements, prioritize initiatives and monitor execution.
• Coordinate closely with business users, external providers and the technology team to implement solutions.
• Lead functional testing, UAT, documentation, incident resolution and controls to guarantee operational continuity.
• Identify automation and optimization opportunities to continuously improve the bank’s technology stack.

Required profile

• Proven experience in banking or financial services technology.
• Background in managing and evolving core banking systems.
• Strong ability to bridge business needs with technical solutions.
• Experience in project planning, requirement analysis and multi‑disciplinary coordination.
