About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to design, develop, implement and maintain data architectures that support analytical solutions for a leading Panamanian private bank.

Key responsibilities

• Gather requirements, assess gaps and design scalable analytical architectures.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to ensure data quality and availability for modeling.
• Explore designs and build appropriate data pipelines (data lake/warehouse) for specific analytical use cases.
• Define ETL/ELT processes based on jointly agreed requirements.
• Identify gaps and implement solutions for data security, quality and process automation.
• Support maintenance, bug fixing and performance analysis across the data pipeline.

Required profile

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or Informatics; background in Mathematics/Statistics is a plus.
• 2‑3 years of experience in data engineering and database management.
• Hands‑on experience with SQL, PL/SQL or T‑SQL on production relational databases (Teradata, MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
• Familiarity with Big Data platforms such as Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Map/Reduce, HBase, CouchDB or Hive (preferred).
• Experience with BI reporting tools like MicroStrategy, Tableau, QlikView or PowerBI.
• Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting, Python, PySpark and SQL programming.
