Information and Evidence Officer – eDiscovery Specialist

About the role
The Information and Evidence Officer will support the Group of Human Rights Experts on Nicaragua (GHREN) in Panama, managing electronic evidence and information repositories. Working under the Coordinator of the Group, the officer will translate investigative objectives into technical activities and ensure the forensic integrity of all collected material.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the Group’s electronic evidence repository and act as eDiscovery project manager, converting investigation goals into technical tasks.
- Oversee evidence handling, including collection, preservation, registration, digitisation, secure storage, and chain‑of‑custody maintenance.
- Control data ingestion, processing, indexing and populate review systems to facilitate efficient analysis.
- Design and maintain end‑to‑end data models that support information flow and enforce provenance and confidentiality classifications.
- Provide advisory services on record‑keeping practices, information asset management, and policy development.
- Research, evaluate and recommend new information‑technology applications for archives and records management.
- Participate in record‑keeping improvement projects, including feasibility studies, system analysis, design, testing and user support.
- Develop functional specifications, user documentation, training materials and conduct staff training on record‑keeping systems.
