pg · Panama Business Center
Job description
About the role
P&G is looking for a Data Engineer with strong eCommerce domain expertise to own and evolve the data infrastructure powering its operations across Latin America. You will design end-to-end pipelines, integrate high-volume platforms and deliver data products that fuel analytics and intelligent commerce experiences. The position is full-time, managerial, and starts as soon as possible, with relocation support available.
Key responsibilities
- Build and operate batch-oriented eCommerce data pipelines on Azure Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL and Delta Lake, covering catalog, pricing, promotions, inventory, orders, payments, fulfillment and returns.
- Design incremental processing patterns for backfills, late-arriving data and schema evolution, and create reusable pipeline components.
- Build and maintain integrations with Amazon and other eCommerce, payment, logistics and enterprise systems via REST APIs, webhooks, files and cloud-native interfaces, handling authentication, pagination, rate limits, retries and idempotency.
- Build monitoring and recovery mechanisms for critical integrations across Latin American markets.
- Optimize Spark workloads through partitioning, join strategies, caching and query-plan analysis, and implement automated data quality controls and observability.
- Drive root cause analysis and deliver permanent fixes for production issues.
Required profile
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering or software engineering in production environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
- Proven experience with eCommerce, digital marketplaces, retail or high-volume transactional platforms.
- Direct experience integrating with REST APIs and hands-on Python, PySpark and SQL at scale.
- Production-grade pipelines on Databricks or an equivalent platform.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English.
Required skills
- Batch processing, incremental ingestion, data modeling and data quality practices.
- Version control, automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews and production monitoring.
- Nice to have: advanced Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows, Auto Loader, MLflow), Amazon Marketing Cloud, and operating machine learning or AI models in production.
What we offer
- Relocation support to Panama.
- Responsibilities from day one, with a dynamic, supportive environment and work/life balance.
- International teams with regional or global responsibilities.
- Competitive salary and benefits, long-term career, mentorship and formal training.
