Collections Supervisor

About the role

Grainger is seeking a Collections Supervisor to lead the credit and collections function for corporate, commercial, government and international accounts. You will oversee a $40M accounts‑receivable portfolio, ensure timely collection of past‑due balances, and support the company’s commitment to service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Apply Grainger’s credit and collections policies across all account types.
• Maintain integrity of up to $40M A/R portfolio and develop systematic follow‑up programs.
• Negotiate settlements, partial payments, extensions and write‑offs with customers.
• Approve use of external agencies or legal actions for forced collections.
• Collaborate with Credit, Sales and Branch partners to resolve complex collection issues.
• Travel to internal and external partners to strengthen relationships.
• Create, update and implement collection policies and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Lead, coach and evaluate Collector Representatives, setting performance goals and providing feedback.
• Prepare and submit regular operating reports on collection status.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in collections or accounts‑receivable.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders.
