Associate Construction Specialist

About the role

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Associate Construction Specialist to join its Panama team. The role supports senior site supervisors in delivering rail construction projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Technological Site Supervisor and Senior Civil Site Supervisor in ensuring project deliverables meet schedule, quality, and HSE requirements.
• Prepare and issue construction documentation such as Responsibility Matrix, Work Plan, Interface Matrix, procedures, protocols, risk analyses, and hand‑over documents.
• Monitor scope predecessors and report any deviations, proposing corrective or preventive actions.
• Track compliance with HSE regulations and technical specifications, escalating issues early.
• Evaluate constructability, capture lessons learned, and apply good engineering practices.
• Assess contractor performance regarding scope, cost, and program adherence.
