Applied AI Specialist

About the role

Tigo is looking for an Applied AI Specialist in Panama to implement, configure, deploy, operate and optimize artificial intelligence use cases defined and prioritized by the Tigo Technology Center (TTC). The role turns business requirements into operational solutions that improve productivity, efficiency and user experience, following approved corporate platforms and Information Security best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Implement AI use cases according to the TTC roadmap, configuring assistants, agents, copilots and intelligent workflows, and customizing corporate solutions.
• Gather and document functional requirements, analyze existing processes, and turn operational needs into solution configurations.
• Conduct functional testing, validation and production deployments, and take part in PoCs and rollouts.
• Monitor performance and adoption, optimize prompts, agents and configurations, and track effectiveness metrics.
• Develop user guides and training materials, provide support and troubleshooting, and train end users.
• Ensure compliance with Information Security, Privacy, Data Governance and AI Governance policies, and follow Millicom standards and Security by Design and Security by Default principles.
• Work with the Head of TTC, Technology Leaders, NOC, Information Security, corporate AI teams and architecture teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in Technology, Telecommunications, AI, Digital Transformation or Process Improvement.
• 2+ years implementing Generative AI solutions or enterprise AI platforms.
• Experience gathering requirements, working with business users and technical teams, and performing testing, deployment and support.
• Spanish native; English intermediate to advanced, including technical reading.

Required skills

• Generative AI fundamentals, prompt engineering and AI governance.
• Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio, foundation models (OpenAI, Anthropic or equivalent).
• Preferred: Azure OpenAI, RAG, MCP, Power Platform, and intermediate Python.
