Staff Accountant – Financial Reporting & Audits

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to join Insignia’s finance team in Panama. The successful candidate will handle month‑end reporting, bank reconciliations and support internal audits while ensuring accurate financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly accruals, standard and adjusting journal entries, and generate final GL activity.
• Reconcile revenue between accounting and accounts receivable systems.
• Maintain fixed‑asset schedules, assist with annual cost reports, capital improvement files and audit support, including state capital report filings.
• Support compliance and reporting, such as HUD replacement reserve reimbursements and semi‑annual accounting packages for Expedited Payment Status.
• Maintain accurate accounting documentation, provide treasury support (e.g., check clearing) and perform other assigned accounting duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Panamanian citizenship or a valid work permit for Panama.
• Advanced‑level English (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Experience using NetSuite.
