Senior Metallurgist – Concentrator

About the role

The Senior Metallurgist at the Concentrator reports to the Technical Superintendent and is responsible for defining, monitoring and reporting on the flotation plant process strategy to optimise copper concentrate production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise the flotation metallurgical process to exceed recovery, concentrate quality and tails grade KPIs.
• Provide technical support to operations, monitor performance indicators, conduct troubleshooting and data analysis using PI Process Book.
• Coordinate field trials, maintain a database of plant trials and critical metallurgical values, and issue daily operating instructions.
• Define and maintain flotation process control philosophies and collaborate with control engineers on system tuning.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience as a metallurgist or in a leadership role within large, complex metallurgical operations.
• Tertiary qualification in Extractive Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or a related field.
• Fluency in Spanish (required) and proficiency in English (highly regarded).
• Commitment to SHEC performance and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
