Senior Dams Engineer – Embankment

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Dams Engineer specialized in embankment dams to join our team in Panama City, Panama. The role involves leading design, assessment, and risk analysis activities for water storage and hydropower projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptual to detailed design of water dams, retarding basins, and service basins.
• Act as Capture Manager for pre‑positioning and preparing proposals.
• Inspect, investigate, and assess condition of existing dams, including review of monitoring data.
• Perform alternatives analyses, feasibility studies, and detailed designs, ensuring compliance with design drawings and technical specifications.
• Stay informed of new developments and recommend program or application changes.
• Conduct failure mode and risk analyses for water storage and hydropower dams, and facilitate risk analysis workshops.
• Serve as client liaison throughout project phases.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in dam and embankment engineering.
• Proven ability to manage design and risk‑analysis projects from concept through detailed design.
• Strong analytical skills for condition assessment and failure mode evaluation.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and proposal preparation.
