Senior Accounting Compliance Associate

About the role

The Senior Accounting Compliance Associate will join the Panama Institutional Financial Services team to ensure that project financial reporting meets IOM’s accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This position provides expert guidance on accounting, finance, and project matters across IOM offices.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate project financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide support and guidance on accounting, financial, and project issues to IOM offices.
• Ensure adherence to IOM’s accounting regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Chief of Global Accounting and regional management on compliance matters.

Required profile

• High school diploma with six years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Management with four years of experience.
• CPA or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Familiarity with IPSAS, IFRS and internal control frameworks.
• Audit experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
