Reliability Engineer

About the role

APM Terminals Panama is looking for a Global Reliability Engineer to lead regional reliability initiatives and support terminals across the region. The role integrates regional activities with the global Reliability & Planning Strategy to drive operational excellence in asset maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of regional reliability strategies aligned with global standards.
• Drive defect elimination, root‑cause analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and improve equipment reliability KPIs such as asset availability and MTBF.
• Conduct or commission FMECA studies and support optimal maintenance strategy development.
• Identify performance gaps, lead Kaizen events, and implement corrective action plans.
• Ensure accurate reporting of maintenance and reliability KPIs across terminals.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Background in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Communications, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Experience in reliability management, asset maintenance, and condition‑based maintenance (CBM) programs.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
