Quality Assurance Laboratory Manager

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Quality Assurance Laboratory Manager to lead day‑to‑day laboratory operations in Panama City. You will oversee testing of concrete, aggregates, and advanced soils, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily laboratory activities, verify testing requests and develop work forecasts.
• Conduct concrete, aggregate, and advanced soils tests, including consolidation, UCS rock, triaxial and direct shear testing.
• Maintain testing quality, train junior staff and supervise QA/QC construction testing and field inspections.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated, serviced and repaired according to specifications.
• Maintain organized laboratory inventory and documentation, and prepare detailed testing reports.
• Participate in CCIL and MTO proficiency testing programs.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a construction‑focused testing laboratory.
• Strong understanding of ASTM and CSA standards.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior technicians.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
