Private Finance Operations Specialist – Portfolio Management & Business Intelligence

About the role

IDB Lab is seeking a dynamic professional to lead and enhance the Portfolio Management and Business Intelligence function within its Ecosystem Building and Acceleration (EBA) Division. The role supports ecosystem development initiatives across Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on entrepreneurship, market creation, and the management of non‑reimbursable technical cooperations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse portfolio performance, including KPIs, results frameworks, project status, trends and data quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct portfolio analyses such as legacy assessments, repayment projections, financial outlooks, leverage metrics and risk classification.
• Prepare quarterly and annual reports, strategic insights and donor reporting for senior management and internal stakeholders.
• Improve portfolio tools, dashboards, reporting platforms, monitoring frameworks and operational analytics.
• Support risk management and stakeholder coordination by identifying emerging issues and contributing to corrective actions and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in finance, economics, business administration, public policy or a related field.
• At least four to five years of professional experience in portfolio management, financial analysis or risk management, preferably within development finance or multilateral institutions.
