About the role
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field‑based scientific expert who partners with external stakeholders to advance specialty care knowledge. Based in Panama, the MSL will lead scientific engagement locally and support selected territories within the NOLA region.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory scientific engagement plan aligned with regional medical priorities and stakeholder needs.
- Build and sustain peer‑to‑peer relationships with specialists, investigators, healthcare professionals, scientific societies, and decision‑makers.
- Provide balanced, non‑promotional scientific exchange, answering unsolicited medical questions and tailoring communication to expert audiences.
- Maintain up‑to‑date scientific knowledge, critically appraise clinical evidence, emerging data, and treatment pathways.
- Gather and communicate field insights, unmet needs, and evidence gaps to inform medical strategy.
- Coordinate cross‑border stakeholder engagement and medical activities with local and regional teams, respecting country regulations.
- Support medical education, advisory boards, congress activities, and scientific meetings with rigorous governance.
- Assist evidence‑generation activities, investigator‑initiated research, and site feasibility discussions as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Medical, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Market Access, and Commercial colleagues while preserving the non‑promotional mandate of Medical Affairs.
- Maintain accurate records in approved systems and fulfill pharmacovigilance, product quality, and compliance reporting obligations.
Required profile
- Medical Doctor with an advanced health‑related degree, or a life‑sciences bachelor (Pharmacy, Biomedicine, Nursing) with an MSc in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Affairs, MSL or comparable field‑medical role, clinical practice, research, academia, or the pharma/biotech industry.
- Proven ability to interpret complex clinical evidence and communicate it clearly to specialist audiences.
