Commercial Partnerships & Alliances Lead

About the role

Novartis is seeking a Commercial Partnerships & Alliances Lead to develop and maintain a business development capability for Global BD&L activities in Panama. The role will identify and implement country‑specific opportunities that support Novartis' ambition to achieve a leading worldwide position.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the execution of country BD&L strategies and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
• Identify, evaluate and manage business development opportunities, including licensing, out‑licensing, joint ventures and divestments.
• Lead due diligence activities, build external networks and coordinate partnership evaluations across governance forums.
• Support negotiation and structuring of transactions and assist with contract drafting under supervision.
• Manage day‑to‑day project activities, resource allocation, timeline adherence and cross‑functional coordination.
• Report technical complaints, adverse events and manage distribution of marketing samples where applicable.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in business, finance, life sciences, law or related field.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with local‑language proficiency.
• Experience in business development, licensing, alliances or transactions within pharma, biotech or healthcare.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical BD and licensing processes, including opportunity identification, evaluation, due diligence and governance.
• Strong analytical capabilities for portfolio gap analysis, competitive intelligence and strategic prioritization.
• Proven project‑management skills across multiple workstreams.
