Lead Investment Officer – Mobilization & Asset Sharing

About the role

IDB Invest is looking for dynamic, experienced Lead Investment Officers to join its Mobilization & Asset Sharing Division. The role embeds mobilization and distribution considerations into the origination, structuring, and placement of development‑finance transactions across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key responsibilities

• Support Directors in developing and implementing regional mobilization and asset‑sharing strategies aligned with the Originate to Share model.
• Advise investment teams on transaction structuring to maximise third‑party capital mobilisation, covering A/B Loans, B Bonds, syndicated co‑financings, unfunded credit protection, risk participations and managed accounts.
• Lead primary and secondary distribution efforts, including sell‑down processes, investor roadshows, and targeted outreach to local and regional investors.
• Prepare syndication strategies, term sheets, information memoranda, teasers and investor presentations.
• Provide market intelligence, pricing guidance and structuring advice to origination teams, drawing on deep knowledge of syndicated loan and capital‑market dynamics.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration or a related field.
• At least 6 years (10 years desirable) of experience in loan syndications, debt structuring or capital markets at a multilateral development bank, commercial/investment bank or asset‑management firm.
• Proven track record of originating, executing and placing syndicated loans, B‑Loans and B‑Bonds.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with corporate borrowers, financial institutions, investors and internal stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and either Spanish (Andean/Central America) or Portuguese (Brazil).
