Investigations Specialist – Remote

About the role

The Office of Audit and Investigations (OAI) at UNDP is seeking a remote Investigations Specialist to support complex investigations into misconduct, fraud, corruption and other violations across UNDP operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and conduct investigations of misconduct allegations, including fraud, corruption, sexual harassment and abuse of authority.
• Interview witnesses and subjects, ensuring accurate recording, use of interpreters when needed, and preservation of evidence with proper chain of custody.
• Analyze documentary and electronic evidence, prepare investigation plans, and draft high‑quality investigation, closure and recommendation reports.
• Liaise with UNDP legal, HR, ethics and external anti‑corruption agencies to coordinate investigative actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing investigations, forensic evidence handling and investigative interviewing.
• Strong knowledge of UN or international organization regulations, audit standards and confidentiality requirements.
