Industrial Safety and Medical Emergencies Officer

About the role

The Industrial Safety and Medical Emergencies Officer will join the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team at APM Terminals. The role focuses on preventing workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidents through proactive inspection, compliance, and corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect workplace and environmental incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external HSE requirements and standards.
• Coach and mentor less‑experienced staff and provide informal supervisory support.
• Oversee work of lower‑level professionals and manage HSE processes and programmes.
• Set objectives, deliver on responsibilities, and influence long‑term tactical decisions within the HSE domain.
• Apply practical methods, techniques, and work procedures to solve problems using known alternatives.

Required profile

• Previous work experience in a related HSE area or advanced education providing practical knowledge.
• Ability to work independently within defined boundaries while seeking supervision for complex tasks.
• Strong knowledge of practical HSE methods, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Capability to manage day‑to‑day employee activities and set priorities to ensure task completion.
