Hotel Receptionist – Front Desk & Cashier

About the role

The Receptionist/Cashier is the primary face of Las Clementinas, a boutique 9‑room hotel in Panama City’s historic Casco Antiguo. Reporting to the Manager, the role combines front‑desk service, reservation handling and cash management to deliver a personalized guest experience that matches the hotel’s high‑standard positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, manage check‑in and check‑out procedures, and provide local recommendations.
• Handle direct booking inquiries, present rate options, validate credit cards and enforce deposit policies using Guesty PMS.
• Process POS card transactions, open and close cash registers, reconcile daily payments and issue legal invoices.
• Complete shift checklists, synchronize OTA channel managers (Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb) and process no‑shows.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure room readiness and promptly report issues.
• Document shift activities in the logbook and maintain compliance with operational SOPs.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years front‑desk experience in boutique hotels or apart‑hotels.
• High‑school diploma; hospitality or tourism degree preferred.
• Valid Carnet Blanco and Carnet Verde under Panamanian law.
• Native Spanish speaker with proficient spoken and written English.
• Clean police record and full availability for rotating 8‑hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Guesty PMS (or similar reservation systems).
• Experience using OTA extranets such as Booking.com, Expedia and Airbnb.
• Operation of POS terminals and cash handling.
• Microsoft Office and Google Workspace competence.
• Use of WhatsApp Business for guest communication.
