Head of Investments – Private Family Office

About the role

We are seeking a senior investment professional to lead the investment function of a private family office based in Panama. The role will shape portfolio strategy, oversee asset allocation and drive the development of a diversified portfolio with a strong focus on alternative assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead portfolio strategy, asset allocation and implementation of investment policy.
• Identify, evaluate and recommend new investment opportunities across traditional and alternative assets.
• Direct financial analysis and due diligence for private equity, private credit, direct investments, real estate, funds and co‑investment opportunities.
• Monitor portfolio performance, risk, liquidity, concentration and capital commitments.
• Select and supervise external managers, banks, custodians, advisors and other financial counterparties.
• Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
• Strengthen investment processes, reporting, governance and decision‑making framework.
• Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity and alignment with the family’s long‑term interests.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a family office, institutional asset management, private markets or comparable investment environment.
• Proven track record evaluating and managing diversified portfolios with significant exposure to alternative investments.
• Experience presenting investment recommendations to committees, boards or sophisticated investors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related quantitative discipline; graduate degree and CFA designation are a plus.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, executive maturity, intellectual independence and a strong fiduciary mindset.
