Founding Staff Engineer

About the role

Outpost is seeking its first full‑time engineer to own and develop the core product that powers its AI‑native Reddit marketing platform. You will shape both the internal tooling that boosts agency efficiency and the customer‑facing analytics suite that turns Reddit conversations into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate end‑to‑end production systems that surface high‑value Reddit threads, learn subreddit culture, and generate brand‑aligned drafts.
• Implement quality‑check workflows, monitoring, and measurement to ensure safe, white‑hat engagement.
• Own cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and deployment processes without a dedicated platform team.
• Integrate large‑language‑model (LLM) capabilities in production, handling evaluation, retries, cost, and latency considerations.
• Develop reporting and insight features that show brand sentiment, competitor positioning, and SEO impact.

Required profile

• Staff‑level full‑stack engineer with a track record of shipping and owning production systems, preferably in a startup environment.
• Hands‑on experience with production‑grade LLMs, including evaluation and performance tuning.
• Strong ownership of cloud, data, and deployment tooling; ability to operate without a dedicated infra team.
• Deep familiarity with Reddit’s ecosystem, API usage, and community dynamics is a major advantage.
