Engineer, Cyclone Plant

About the role

The Cyclone Plant Engineer will support daily operations of the sand cyclone plant, contribute to ongoing projects, and conduct research to improve plant performance. Reporting to the Cyclone Plant Operations Coordinator, the role combines routine maintenance with innovative problem‑solving.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily plant operations and ensure HSE compliance.
• Perform regular equipment checks and monitor safe working conditions.
• Collect data, generate performance reports, and use the PI System to analyse operational anomalies.
• Participate in short‑ and long‑term production planning and shutdown procedures (lockout/tag‑out).
• Support research initiatives aimed at increasing cyclone plant efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with Panamanian regulations and environmental best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, process engineering or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in plant operations or a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work in a multicultural, team‑oriented environment.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to read layouts and perform basic chemistry calculations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using the PI System for data reporting and analysis.
