About the role
The Documentation Assistant supports key customers in Central America by handling all documentation requirements for both import and export cargo. You will work closely with principals, cargo receivers, freight forwarders, terminals and stevedores to ensure smooth cargo release and compliance with customs procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Import cargo: dispatch Arrival Notices, coordinate releases for time‑sensitive cargo, liaise with principals and receivers, monitor group email, collect and reconcile wharfage payments, provide ETA updates, and ensure proper AMS filing.
- Export cargo: prepare Bills of Lading with freight forwarders, verify cargo stowage and charter party details, issue original Bills of Lading, prepare Mate’s Receipts, Load Lists and manifests, and complete customs documentation.
Required profile
- Willingness to rotate nights and weekends.
- Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Detail‑oriented, results‑driven and able to handle multiple priorities.
