Data Analyst Specialist

About the role

First Quantum is hiring a Data Analyst Specialist in Colon, reporting into the Commercial Business Improvement function. The role involves creative and collaborative work with the Commercial area and the wider business, promoting effective data management practices and a better understanding of data and analytics.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Computer or Engineering, or a degree in statistics, mathematics, supply chain or a related subject involving maths, such as economics or data science.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, preferably in large or international environments.
• Proven experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic business environment.
• Experience communicating face-to-face with customers, collecting requirements, implementing solutions and providing technical support.
• High level of mathematical ability, accuracy and attention to detail, with a methodical and logical approach.
• Ability to adhere to standards, work with limited supervision and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Programming languages such as SQL and Python.
• Hands-on experience with SQL reporting services and MS SQL Server.
• Experience with Power BI and other BI platforms.
• Ability to analyse, model and interpret data.
