Cyclone Plant Engineer

About the role

The Cyclone Plant Engineer supports daily operations of the sand cyclone plant, contributes to ongoing projects, and drives performance improvements through research and reporting. You will work on‑site in a multicultural environment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily plant operations and perform regular equipment checks.
• Assist project teams and conduct research to boost cyclone plant performance.
• Generate and present operational reports and data analyses.
• Perform rounds of the TMF perimeter, monitoring seepage collection, decant tunnel discharge, tailings infrastructure, and sand dam conditions.
• Participate in short‑ and long‑term production planning and lockout/tag‑out procedures during shutdowns.
• Use the PI System to log and analyse operational anomalies.
• Apply best practices to minimise environmental impact and uphold HSE standards.
• Raise technical issues to TMF Operations and ensure timely corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, process engineering or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in plant operations or a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a team‑oriented, high‑stress environment.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work in Panama under local laws.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using the PI System for data collection and analysis.
• Knowledge of physical calculations, basic chemistry and layout reading.
