About the role

The Compliance Analyst – Monitoring will support Canal Bank’s effort to maintain robust anti‑money‑laundering (AML) and counter‑terrorist financing controls. The role focuses on analyzing, investigating and reporting suspicious or unusual transactions to ensure effective transaction monitoring and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze alerts generated by the monitoring system, conduct investigations, validate findings and draw conclusions on identified transactions.
• Investigate unusual or suspicious operations and follow up on clients with atypical transactional behavior.
• Coordinate with business units to collect and validate information supporting case documentation, ensuring timely and accurate records.
• Prepare and document suspicious activity reports for escalation through regulatory platforms.
• Support regulatory inspections, process‑improvement projects and the maintenance of monitoring tools.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Law, Political Science, Banking, Finance or related fields.
• Minimum two years of experience in compliance, transaction monitoring or a similar banking role.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, autonomous, result‑oriented with effective communication skills.
• Responsible handling of confidential information.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (advanced).
• Familiarity with the MonitorPlus monitoring platform.
