Accountant

About the role

Business IT is seeking a qualified Accountant to oversee the company’s financial records, ensure compliance with Panamanian tax regulations, and support strategic financial planning. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external auditors to maintain accurate and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and validate all accounting entries.
• Coordinate and execute monthly and annual closing processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with Panamanian tax and fiscal obligations.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Control cash flow and produce financial forecasts.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Implement and strengthen internal controls and best financial practices.
• Manage relationships with banks and regulatory bodies.
• Identify opportunities to improve and optimize accounting and financial processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Proven experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of Panamanian tax and accounting regulations.
• Experience with IFRS/NIIF standards.
• Hands‑on experience with monthly and annual closing cycles.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations, receivables and payables.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using ERP accounting systems.
• Desirable: specialization or diploma in Finance, Taxation or IFRS.
