Técnico QA/QC – Aseguramiento y Control de Calidad

About the role

The QA/QC Technician will support Minera Panamá S.A. by performing quality assurance and control activities on raw materials, in‑process samples and finished products within a mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and tests on raw materials, process samples and finished products according to established sampling plans.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Document and report test results accurately and promptly, highlighting any deviations.
• Assist in root‑cause investigations, corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and other departments to ensure quality standards throughout the production cycle.
• Maintain a clean, organized laboratory complying with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Participate in the development and improvement of QA/QC procedures and documentation.
• Provide support during internal and external audits by supplying required documentation and information.

Required profile

• High school diploma; technical, associate degree or certification in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Quality Control or related fields preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of QA/QC experience, preferably in mining, heavy industry or manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail, precision and problem‑solving ability.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish; English is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, challenging environment.
• Physical capability to work in a mining setting, including exposure to dust, noise and varying temperatures.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Proficiency with laboratory analytical techniques such as titration, spectroscopy and gravimetry.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and quality control plans.
