About the role

The Engineering Leader will head the planning, coordination and execution of engineering projects for AES Panama’s generation and energy infrastructure assets. This senior position ensures that projects meet business objectives, safety standards, scope, schedule and budget while supporting major maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute multidisciplinary engineering projects from definition to commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with technical and management standards established by AES.
• Develop and maintain execution plans, schedules, and risk management frameworks.
• Support major maintenance preparation, including pre‑outage activities, resource and contractor planning, and material logistics.
• Provide continuous visibility of the project portfolio through physical and financial progress tracking and executive reporting.
• Facilitate smooth hand‑over of completed projects to Operations and Maintenance teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering projects in the power generation or energy sector.
• Strong ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated competence in meeting safety, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Experience in risk management, project reporting and portfolio oversight.
